Shrieking Shorties

It's Oct. 31st and just as promised here it is:
(click me)

"Forgotten" got rewarded with the second place in the WCM Halloween contest, but looking at the first three places I'm very suprised that it had a chance. Lafawnduh and Caruu did a great job with "The Orchard" and Johan Vagstedt's "An Unusual Night" is simply amazing.
I really enjoyed all of this year's contest entries and I'm pretty suprised about the high quality. Good to see that WoW machinima is moving away from dancing orcs in Windows Movie Maker.

Halloween is coming...

The work on the series already shows some decent progress, to be precise, 99% of the video work is done, only most of the audio things are missing, but we're also getting closer to Halloween and I'm pretty sure I can show you something you're not used to from WoW machinima yet.

Well, this is the only thing I can show you before October 31st, but I can tell you that the Halloween project seems to work out as planned and... well, as I said... it won't be something you've seen in other machinima.

Welcome to the jungle

I know - abusing titles of worn out cock-rock songs ain't very creative, but I can't come up with something great every time ... or once ...
That aside, the trailer is of course still in the works, but the movie (and the trailer of course) make progress and looking at the current status, I'd say its only a few days until the first moving pictures are more or less releaseable.

Also: Hoodoo Shopping got reviewed on WoW Insider; unfortunately not by moo_money anymore, but in the end the idea of movies is to watch them and not to read them anyway, right?
So, instead of writing more and more weird words you don't want to see, I'll just leave you with some not-so-very-impressive-but-still-worth-posting pictures.

What are those murlocs up to, what does Raymond do in the jungle and why is there a dojo made of solid gold? Only the wind knows... and the metal boxes.

Clean your hut!

Alright, here we go.
My submission to the BlizzCon 2008 machinima contest.

(click me)

Some post-release words:
I do indeed suck at time-management; so this movies was done in only 4,5 days. I needed almost the whole month of the contest period to come up with a viable idea - 2 hours later that idea was discarded and traded in for the (much better) idea of my brother Mr. Phil D. Lirious who came up with that infomercial in his mind in only a few hours.
I'm the picture-man, not the story-man *sniff*

Nothing more to say for now... need to get back working on that trailer :)

Beards, hats, ninjas and beer!

Aye, there is a series in the works as I already mentioned and for now everything looks like it will work out somehow. There's a good script for epsiode 1, something like plan for the following episodes and also a title:

At the moment I'm not allowed to share any deeper information, but the official trailer will be released this week if nothing unexpected happens - like HDD crashes or the apocalypse - the usual stuff.

Ohhh... I almost forgot!
Be sure to check in on October 6 for the lastet release of moving pictures!

September 30, 2008

Pretty unusual, but surely also the only one to ever be released. A PvP movie... yeah. Now stop throwing stuff at me - I'm innocent.
The footage for the video was captured in season 3 (late january 2008) and was rotting on my HDD since then. A friend of mine kept on annoying me for several weeks to release that stuff, so I apprently sacrified those 3 hours of editing.
Just in case you want to watch it - click the picture above or here.

The good news is:
I'm working on a whole machinima series at the moment and with some luck the first sneak-peek might be available today. The trailer will be released by the end of the week if everything works as planned and I hope to have the first episode up and running in two or three weeks.

So I needed black leather, but there's non ingame *sighs* time to learn WoW texture editing.

Yeah... whatever

I don't know what I wanted to write here - time for bed.

Meat & Greet with some BlingBling

Maybe someone remembers that (visually) horrible movie - Meat&Greet - the first one I released and also the fastest one if I remember correctly. The wohle thing was made in one single 21-hour session or something and I had no superior editing software (or skills). Everything was made in Premiere 5.0 and even the keying reminds me a bit of Windows MovieMaker.

Well, whatever - I thought I might be able to adjust some parts, get better colors in, etc - just to find out that the complete footage got destroyed during a HDD crash last year. Still willing to make it look a bit better I just took the second best choice in the end and edited the only rendered version that I have within 30 or 40 minutes
(and thats what it looks like :P ).
Some color corrections, some masks, some adjusted curves, some more masks, some gradients, some lolglows and it's done. And yessss - it still looks horrible, BUT it has lolglows!

It's also up on WCM so maybe throw some bad rating at me over there or whatever you prefer for throwing.

EPIXX - Too Fast For Love

Update: Vimeo Stream's up!
So - I read about this machinima contest in BaronSoosdon's blog and unfortunately I decided to participate. So far that's not really anything special to write about, but the contest lasted from Jul. 31st to Sep. 6th. When I found out that there's a contest going on it was indeed the 2nd September.
Well... 3,5 days for a 36-day project ain't a problem, right?

I had quite exactly 4 hours of sleep in the last 3 days, but - tada - it's finished. The downside of the timeframe is that I had no time to really work on the sound and - even worse - no time to find proper voiceactors. 90% of the voices are done by me (sounds horrible *shiver*) - luckily moo_money did the voiceacting for a gnome girl and she did that pretty well indeed - thanks for adding at least one good voice to the project!

Anyways - it's up on FileFront and I strongly recommend to not use the FF stream. If you really want to see it, use the Vimeo Stream or better - download it! It's only 150 MB anyway.

>> Download EPIXX - Too Fast For Love
from Filefront (150MB)

On a sidenote: The script was 100% written by BaronSoosdon so don't blame me for the lack of logic or ask me stupid questions like "why is there a huge SPACE ONION lading in Warsong Gulch?!" - the answer is:
I dont know.

On yet another sidenote: Rock'n'Troll will come, but probably not this very summer. That one is a huge project and as I want it a least a bit perfect'ish it'll take some more time. But it will be worth the effort - Just stay tuned.

Official Rock'n'Troll Trailer released

Blood, cloned superevil metrosexual mini zombie-tauren minions, dead murlocs, a lawnmower and Rock'n'Roll. Just a little taste of what is planned for "Rock 'n' Troll - the Movie".

>> Rock 'n' Troll Trailer @ WCM

HQ Download @ Filefront (45 mb)

>> I really recommend the Filefront version! No, really - Don't hurt your eyes with the Youtube stream...

If the Filefront DL doesn't work for some reason, here's the ugly YouTube version.

WCM link will follow as soon as it's approved.

... of course good musicians don't come with their tour bus these days - They spawn in the sky ...

Zob Rombie visits Lordaeron

5:25 AM: First scene is finally cut. Now let's add some salt, water and 60 hours of editing and there might me more to show.

Poff Peng - Session #2

Just another shot - featuring Baron Soosdon's gnome... thingy.

Poff Pew Peng!

Just playing around a bit with motiontracking and thinking about how to get the lawnmower scene to work. We'll need a lot of blood... a lot.

Almost forgot it:
There's a little Lip-Sync teaser up, but actually I really dont like the tracking yet.

Rock 'n' Troll Pre-Alpha-Teaser Stuff

... well, not even that, but we have to start somewhere I guess.

If you've ever been wondering what happens when trolls use trolls for a scene that's not just a little bit stolen from Braindead (aka "Dead Alive") you might consider visiting a doctor or wait untill Rock'n'Troll gets finished... some day.

Also a little colorization test:
